Allegro Asylum, an imposing 4 storey rise, with its feathering facade, superimposes on the pirouetting figures it houses. With an ambitious intergenerational practice, assisted by its accessible lay of land and inviting diaphanous outlook, this addition brings on a subtle cacophony and versatile energy to Stockport's Lower-Hill Gate in the only missing creative practice- there to diffuse and merge them all: dance.

From ages 1-100, we spend our lives with one consistency, the power of movement. Combined with the ultimate creative practice- music- the act of dancing is introduced to this year's 'Slicing and Stitching Stockport' brief in a hopeful attempt to bring light and life back to the boisterous community of independent thinkers and entrepreneurs that the site's location has to offer. Considering the renewed spotlight focused on Stockport in 2023 as Greater Manchester's 'Town of Culture', the zealous attempt to encourage a merging of creative practices though a medium that would create conversation and intrigue, brining the community closer in an all-inclusive pursuit.
